This is an ultimate transformation of Dilireba's acting prowess as she takes a totally different role of an army major obsessed with dangerous weaponry.
The book described the character she will portray, Lin Yun, as a beautiful army captain who will be involved in the military and scientific investigation regarding the outer space phenomenon together with Dr, Chen, whose parents were killed by a blast of ball lightning.
A totally different role of Dilireba
Ball of Lightning is a gripping tale of obsession over technology and physics. It's an adventure to scientific observation that leads to a far more complex and dangerous mission, based on the book of the same title authored by Liu Cixin.
She will portray Lin Yun, a beautiful army captain who works in an experimental weapons division and obsessed with dangerous weaponry.
This role requires her to do some quantum physics works and all the military things. And because this is a science fiction thriller, she will have more fine combat to perform. Very different from the idol/tweetum roles she did in the previous drama where romance is the main point.
In Ball Lightning there will be no romantic thing involved, which is good because we want to see Dilireba in a different light of acting.
It's kinda tiresome to see celebrities do stuff in acting over and over again. A combination of spy, crime, suspense, and hardcore action will do good to display the maturity of their craft.
Ball Lightning is a hardcore science fiction, and a very serious story that tackles scientific investigation on supernova phenomena. It will be streamed in iQIYI
Ball Lightning plot summary:
I personally have not read yet this book. I am still looking for an English copy but I have read a strip from Goodreads and it sounds so very interesting.
It tells the story of Dr. Chen who, as a 14-year-old boy, had witnessed his parents turned to ashes by the unexplained outer space explosion, which later called "ball lightning".
When his parents are incinerated before his eyes by a blast of ball lightning, he devotes his life to cracking the secret of mysterious natural phenomena. His search takes him to stormy mountaintops, an experimental military weapon facility, and an old Soviet science station.
The more he learns, the more he comes to realize that "ball lightning" is just the tip of an entirely new frontier in particle physics.
Although Chen's quest provides a purpose for his lonely life, his reasons for chasing his elusive quarry come into conflict with soldiers and scientists who have motives of their own:
In his pursuit to uncover the phenomena of ball lightning, he will meet a beautiful army major, Lin Yun, who has an obsession with dangerous weaponry, and a physicist who has no place for ethical considerations in his single-minded pursuit of knowledge.
Their pursuit of knowledge bring them to an old Soviet weapon factory and together, they will take a dangerous mission of uncovering a complex phenomena of nuclear fusion that triggers the ball lightning and the danger it poses if science and technology will go to wrong hands.
It is a fast-paced story that retells what happens when the beauty of scientific inquiry runs up against a push to harness new discoveries with no consideration of their possible consequences.
