Hollywood star, Tom Cruise, has been visible in the public eye lately, apart from promoting his latest flick, "Top Gun: Maverick", he has been seen attending a number of public events, most notably, the Wimbledon Championships in London.
And he is visibly happy.
But there's one part of his life that remains vague to the fans. His relationship with his only biological daughter, Suri. The Top Gun actor has always kept his personal life very private.
Suri Cruise turned 16 on April 18, 2022. Her name means “red rose” in French and “princess” in Hebrew. Her mother, Katie Holmes, separated from Tom Cruise in 2011 and finalized their divorce in June 2012, only five years and a half into their marriage.

Although the reasons for their divorce were not really shared publicly, many speculated she left Tom to protect Suri from his dedication to Scientology.
Tom was not awarded custody of Suri, who was only six years old at that time, but he was given visitation rights, ten days every month. He was also asked to pay US$33,000 a month for child support.
Since the divorce, Katie had moved to New York City with her daughter. And become extra protective of Suri as they continued to be followed by paparazzi.
Suri grew up in the public eye. And the question of whether her dad paid her a visit since 2012 became the most pressing question often thrown to both Katie and Tom (separately) during interviews.
Neither Tom nor Katie ever responded to the questions. So based on public knowledge, Tom was only seen with his daughter in 2012, and no public sighting of the father and daughter has ever been reported since then.
Lately, Suri has been spotted out and about in New York City in recent months. She's attending high school in Manhattan, where she and her mother lived in a rented apartment nearby.

While her father has not been seen publicly with her, it is also unclear whether he has seen or spoken to her behind closed doors.
It is also not clear whether Suri has ever reconnected with her half-siblings. Tom has two adopted children while still married to Nicole Kidman. Isabella and Connor. Unlike Suri, Tom appeared to have a good relationship with his two adopted children.
Although he was given visitation rights of 10 days per month in 2012, sources claimed Tom Cruise opted not to see his daughter.
But why?
“He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist,” a source claimed in 2018.
Apart from this claim, it's also quite impossible for them to meet due to distance. Suri is living with her mother in New York while Tom currently resides in London, UK.

Cruise is a member of the controversial Church of Scientology, a religious group often accused of being both a dangerous cult and a manipulative profit-making business.
Katie Holmes, who was raised a Roman Catholic, also studied Scientology during their marriage but reportedly left Cruise to avoid becoming further entrenched in the group.
However, when asked if Katie ever indicated that she left because of the religion or because she wanted to protect their daughter from Scientology, Tom Cruise responded: "Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes."

Sources say that anyone who leaves the church is cut off from all members of the church, including their immediate family. It is suspected that Katie Holmes has been banned from speaking about Scientology.
The actress has never publicly spoken about her ex-husband’s religion nor why she left the church and critics of the group have suggested that she might be legally restricted from doing so.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce appeared to have been particularly complicated, leaving an aching gap between them and particularly their daughter.
Suri Sings Blue Moon!
Yes, Suri has a singing debut in "Alone Together", a movie that Katie wrote, directed, and starred in, which was shown in July this year. Suri sings Blue Moon in the opening credits! Suri has a soft voice and has proven she's certainly got star power.

Asking why Suri ended up singing the song, Katie said: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing. That's the way I direct in general: It's like, 'This is what I think we all want - go do your thing". Katie continued, "I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her."

In a rare occurrence, Katie also shared her bonding with her mini-me daughter. "I painted, we had a sewing machine, so we were making quilts, we were cooking; we were on a perpetual vacation,". Katie told the sophomore issue of Amazing magazine.
"We were also on a lake and there was a hammock, so I would wake up, sew, have coffee, and take a nap on the hammock. Oh and, by the way, I have to throw this in; we were staying by a lake, so we probably watched Dirty Dancing ten times. Let me tell you, I danced to it in the living room, and it still holds up. It was fun."
