Take Risks. Make Fearless Decision. Create Realistic Plans. It Makes Dream Come True

I've so many things to be grateful for, and so many reasons to celebrate life. God has been so very generous to me, and I believe it's His will that brought me to where I am today. So I am very thankful. For all the blessings I received, and for reaching this age when some are struggling to survive, my heart is filled with gratitude.

As I marked my birthday yesterday, April 3, I felt nothing but gratefulness, enjoying the simple things in life, and counting my blessings instead of brooding about the things I did not get. I am now in a stage where every moment counts, every second matters. Regrets, despair, loneliness, and the idea of failure have no room in my heart.

Living life as it happens every day is how I kept myself out of stress. I figured if we keep on worrying about the things that are beyond our control or keep looking at all the doors that have been closed, we will never be happy, we will never see the big windows that have been opened,  and we will forever be trapped in the corner of desolation and regret, and that is a sad life.

So I chose to be positive. Life is happening now, so let tomorrow take care of itself 😄 I chose to live in the moment. I am doing the best I can to make my life worth living. and working hard, yeah, I am working hard to realize the rest of the items in my priority list lol! I am lucky that I am blessed with a unique talent that allows me to work independently, earn a living, afford the things I want, and enjoy my freedom. I love my life now more than ever.

This valuable wisdom of the late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, guided me throughout my adult life, in making choices and decisions in my career and what path I am going to take in life:

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

Those words inspired me to figure out carefully what kind of career/work I should be taking to be truly satisfied in life because for years that I was working in different industries I was never fulfilled, I was never satisfied, in fact, I felt empty most of the time and seemed very lost. Until 2021, when I made a risky and bold decision to work on my own (blogging, freelancing, and digital content creation).

It was difficult at first. Facing my fears, confronting myself, and the scary thoughts of a possible financial downturn, but well, maybe I am just a risk-taker, a stubborn dreamer, and a foolish adventurer, because it really pays off! My decision to quit the traditional environment of employment and venture into the challenging world of digital content creation pays off! Now I feel fulfilled, satisfied, and happy.

In life, we really need to be brave, determined, and fearless to achieve what we want and realize our dreams. We need to take a risk, make a bold decision, create a realistic plan, and work on it to live the kind of life we always dreamed of.

I always believe that if we are determined to pursue our dreams and courageous enough to work on it the universe and life will conspire to make it happen. We only need to trust our faith.

Apart from Steve Jobs wisdom, these bible verses are what inspired me to get on with life:

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” - Proverbs 19:21.

"To every thing there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11

So always trust your faith and seek God's blessings. There's appropriate time for everything, and all of it are possible in God's time. Since working full time in digital creation I didn't encounter inconveniences. Everything went smoothly, as if I'm destined to be in this field.

So did I get what I wanted after so many twists and turns in my life's journey? Well, based on the top 10 priority list I prepared 20 years ago. I would say yes! I have realized more than 90% of my dreams.

Here's what I exactly listed in my life's priority list, some 20 years ago (The title: Top 10 Things I want to Accomplish in Life). The check mark items are what I accomplished:
  • Obtain a master's degree ✅ realized in 2013 (Ateneo de Davao)
  • Venture into the corporate industry ✅ realized in 2014
  • Travel abroad for leisure ✅ firs realized in 2013 (my first travel abroad was in Hong Kong and Macau)
  • Spend New Year in another country ✅ realized on January 1, 2015 (Vietnam)
  • Visit cultural landmarks abroad ✅ first realized in 2015 (Angkor, Cambodia)
  • Write a book ✅ (realized in 2017 (The Red Star Tattoo Conspiracy)
  • Travel to Europe (not yet)
  • Work independently so that I could travel more ✅ Yes, since 2021
  • Buy a farm (not yet)
  • Build my own house (not yet)
See? Out of the 10 things I listed in my priority list, I completed 7! And that's enough to say I succeeded in life and fulfilled most of my dreams. There's nothing to complain anymore. God is so good!😄 So as I turned a year older this 2025 I don't have regrets, no complains about life, no what ifs and buts because I believed things happen for a reason, and all those circumstances in life, both happy and bad times, brought me to a place where I should thrive, like today.

It has been my dream to work independently or to be on the path of life where I can work freely and enjoy my liberty. God knows how much I hated being in a traditional employment environment, and for many years that I worked in different industries, I had never achieved self-fulfillment or satisfaction or happiness in all the jobs I was in. So I kept searching and continued with my life's adventure to find my own place in this world and where I could fit in.

Until I ventured into the world of content creation. And it's where I finally found the kind of fulfilment I was dreaming. Now, I am busier than ever but the kind of work routine I love doing because it feels as though I am not working but I am just enjoying. I am being paid for my hobbies and doing the things I enjoyed most. I am forever grateful and thankful to God for guiding me all throughout my journey.
